Virtually all training shoes end up in landfill
We love our trainers but once they have served their useful life they end up in the rubbish bin! Due to the mixture of plastics and other synthetic materials they are not currently recyclable. It is not known exactly how long it takes for these types of materials to break down but hundreds of years by numerous studies. But if there was another solution? Well one recycling expert has developed one and he should know having spent over 20 years in the industry and built a complete full size home from waste which would have ended up in landfill. The theory is not new but the application is just imagine if the training shoes were restored to their former pristine condition and given to those in need such as low income families or homeless persons. Free of charge of course.
